Scarpantà Derthona Timorasso 2024
The Timorasso grape is making an impressive comeback, and 'Scarpantà' shows why. "Balance over madness" – that's the philosophy behind Scarpantà, a Timorasso made with the precision of great German wines and the inspiration of French tradition. The grapes come from a befriended winemaker ("Walter") and, upon arrival in Roero, are immediately chilled and spontaneously fermented. The magic happens during maturation: the wine spends at least a year in rotating Clayver tanks (ceramic). This rotation ensures continuous, natural bâtonnage, which gives the wine unprecedented texture and mineral depth without masking the purity of the fruit. After bottling, the wine rests for another 6 months in the cellar before release. A monumental white wine with an impressive structure.
