'Suri' (south-facing slope) means in the local dialect the best situated parts of the hill, exposed to the sun from early morning to late evening. This Mon Suri is a rich and intense Nebbiolo from old vineyards on very steep south-facing slopes. The wine undergoes a slow fermentation in wooden or steel vats, followed by an impressive aging of at least 4 years. After at least 2 years in medium-sized wooden barrels, the wine rests for another year in the bottle before release. The result is a complex, powerful Nebbiolo with amazingly soft tannins. A wine for the most cherished moments among enthusiasts.
